Pathway Choices:

  1. Children and young people residential

    • Ideal for learners who work with children and young people in a residential environment (such as a care home).

    • This course will teach learners how to manage a team, safeguard children and young people, and assess an individual in a health and social care setting.

  2. Adult residential

    • Ideal for learners who work with adult learners in a residential environment (such as an elderly care home).

    • This course will teach learners how to manage a team, protect vulnerable adults and manage group living for adults.

  3. Adult non-residential

    • Ideal for learners who work with adults in a non-residential environment (such as a daycare service).

    • This course will teach learners how to manage a team, lead active support and develop procedures and practices to respond to concerns and complaints.

Assessment:

No EXAMS

12 Months of access to the platform to study and provide essays for assessment.

Some requirements must be met via workplace observation.

The guided learning hours for this qualification are 586 hours, and most students are certified within 6-9 months; however, you do have the full 12 months to complete the course at your own leisurely pace.

Course Entry Requirements:

All learners must meet these entry requirements to be able to complete the course:

  • This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 years and above.

  • Learners must be in a voluntary or paid role within the sector.

  • Learners must be able to demonstrate Maths and English at level 2

  • Learners must have access to a qualified observer. This is someone who holds this qualification or an equivalent or higher. (We can provide this for an extra charge if necessary).
